CLC girls celebrate University offers
Impressive set of A Level Results
An impressive array of A Level results for girls at The Cheltenham Ladies’ College includes 77.2% pass rate for A* and A grades with a sensational 28.2% at A*. Eighteen girls achieved three or more A* passes. All girls did extremely well with 100% pass rate, 100% A-C grade.
“These wonderful results are a testament to the girls’ commitment and hard work; the quality of teaching, breadth of extra-curricular provision and the excellent pastoral care that they receive here. I am especially pleased that some of the very best results were achieved by girls who were also devoted to drama, music, art and sport. It matters greatly that the A* grade does not curb such character-building and joyful pursuits.” says Mrs Tuck, Principal.
Mrs Tuck continues, “This will be a very tough year for university entrance places and I am delighted that the majority of our girls will have secured their first choice. This year we have introduced the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) where the girls write a 5000 word essay on a field of research that they have chosen. This gives the girls an opportunity to work independently, helping to prepare them for study at University. I believe that this qualification is something that the universities will increasingly value.”
In June the Cheltenham Ladies’ College received its first set of International Baccalaureate results with a 100% pass rate and an impressive 31% of students achieving 40+ points. Two students also obtained the bilingual diploma.
