Global Issues through Religion:  Study of one global issue through the eyes of each world religion, for example, Judaism and the Arab-Israeli conflict; the role of women in Sikhism; Buddhist responses to environmental issues.

Ethical theory and applied ethics: Christian ethics; Kant; Utilitarianism; Natural Law; abortion; euthanasia; genetic engineering; war and peace.

Philosophy of Religion: Life after death and the soul; religious experience; miracles; scriptural revelation; religious language.

Core paper:  The self and personal identity

Textual paper:  Plato’s Republic

Ethical theory:  ethical language; absolutism and relativism; biomedical ethics; environment; wealth

Philosophy of Religion:  Concepts of a higher being; religious experience and behaviour; religion around the world
